Christmas Giving

By Walter E. Isenhour

Christmas-Giving-150x150Christmas Giving

As you think of giving presents
To your friends on Christmas Day,
Don’t forget the poor and needy That you meet along life’s way.

Give them something that is helpful,
That will tell them of your love,
For such giving pleases Jesus
As He watches from above.

If you cannot give abundance,
Give a little in His name;
For a little given rightly,
With His blessings on the same,
May be bread upon the waters
You will find again sometime
Multiplied to loaves of blessing
That are wondrous and sublime.

Give and help to spread the Gospel
On the mission fields of Earth
Where the natives by the millions
Have not heard of Jesus’ birth.

Give to causes that are worthy
Of your money with a prayer;
Give and help to share the burdens
That so many people bear.

Let the Christmas thought of giving
Go with you throughout the year,
Then your life will be a blessing
And you’ll have the thrill of cheer;
For in making others happy,
You will get a great supply,
As our Lord who reigns in heaven
Will then bless you from on high.

leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its

destination full of hope.” – Maya Angelou

Who am I, that the lord of all the earth would care to know my name

Who am I, that the lord of all the earth would care to know my name, would care to feel my hurt? Who am I, that the bright and morning star would choose to light the way for my ever wandering heart?

I am a flower quickly fading, here today and gone tomorrow. A wave tossed in the ocean, a vapor in the wind. Still you hear me when I’m calling. Lord, you catch me when I’m falling and you’ve told me who I am. I am yours.

Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin would look on me with love and watch me rise again? Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea would call out through the rain and calm the storm in me?

I am a flower quickly fading, here today and gone tomorrow. A wave tossed in the ocean, a vapor in the wind. Still you hear me when I’m calling. Lord, you catch me when I’m falling and you’ve told me who I am. I am yours.

Be Still O my Voice

Be still O my voice

Be silent to hear

Be quiet in peace

So I can come near

Be generous, be kind

Do not confuse the heart or mind

Be gracious, speak free

Let me know more about thee

Be open, speak truth

To my soul in it’s youth

Never fear, little one

For the time has come

To hear the Word

Let it wash away the tear

Let it still the fear

Let it calm the storm

In your heart so near

Let it give you comfort

In your days of trials

Let the Word of God

Be your light to stay your fright

Hear me my child

The still voice in the night

Be still, be still

And know that I am God

Despair to Peace

by A Janeen Quillman

Do you ever feel rather lost and alone?
Family and friends living lives of their own,
That no one knows what you’re going through,
Whether real or imagined, it seems real to you?

Life can be hard with it bruises and blows,
And you’ve tried hard not to let them show.
But there’s hope if you’re feeling down in this way
For God gave you a gift you can receive today.

God said He would never leave you alone.
So He sent His Son, Jesus, from His heavenly throne,
To come here and provide salvation for your soul
And take the fragments of your life and make you whole.

There’s only one way to go from despair to peace
And that’s by asking Jesus into your heart for release
From the guilt of your sins you’ve committed against Him,
So the gift of His Spirit can freely come in.

God’s gift of salvation can mend any heart,
And your outlook on life will have a fresh start.
He’ll wrap you in warmth and in His arms you’ll know
His love is forever, and He will never let you go.

Psalm 104

God’s Word of Praise

and Thanksgiving

Psalm 104: This psalm is a hymn of praise to God our Creator. All creation is dependent on God who exercised wisdom in creating everything.

Psalm 104:31

May the glory of the LORD last forever! May the LORD be happy with what he has made!

1O Lord, my God, how great you are!

You are clothed with majesty and glory;

2you cover yourself with light.

You have spread out the heavens like a tent

3and built your home on the waters above.

You use the clouds as your chariot

and ride on the wings of the wind.

4 You use the winds as your messengers

and flashes of lightning as your servants.

5You have set the earth firmly on its foundations,

and it will never be moved.

6You placed the ocean over it like a robe,

and the water covered the mountains.

7When you rebuked the waters, they fled;

they rushed away when they heard your shout of command.

They flowed over the mountains and into the valleys,

to the place you had made for them.

9You set a boundary they can never pass,

to keep them from covering the earth again.

10You make springs flow in the valleys,

and rivers run between the hills.

11 They provide water for the wild animals;

there the wild donkeys quench their thirst.

12In the trees near by,

the birds make their nests and sing.

13 From the sky you send rain on the hills,

and the earth is filled with your blessings.

14You make grass grow for the cattle

and plants for us to use,

so that we can grow our crops

15and produce wine to make us happy,

olive oil to make us cheerful,

and bread to give us strength.

16The cedars of Lebanon get plenty of rain—

the Lord‘s own trees, which he planted.

17 There the birds build their nests;

the storks nest in the fir trees.

18The wild goats live in the high mountains,

and the rock badgers hide in the cliffs.

19You created the moon to mark the months;

the sun knows the time to set.

20You made the night, and in the darkness

all the wild animals come out.

21The young lions roar while they hunt,

looking for the food that God provides.

22 When the sun rises, they go back

and lie down in their dens.

23 Then people go out to do their work

and keep working until evening.

24 Lord, you have made so many things!

How wisely you made them all!

The earth is filled with your creatures.

25 There is the ocean, large and wide,

where countless creatures live,

large and small alike.

26 The ships sail on it, and in it plays Leviathan,

that sea monster which you made.

27All of them depend on you

to give them food when they need it.

28 You give it to them, and they eat it;

you provide food, and they are satisfied.

29 When you turn away, they are afraid;

when you take away your breath, they die

and go back to the dust from which they came.

30 But when you give them breath, they are created;

you give new life to the earth.

31May the glory of the Lord last forever!

May the Lord be happy with what he has made!

32 He looks at the earth, and it trembles;

he touches the mountains, and they pour out smoke.

33I will sing to the Lord all my life;

as long as I live I will sing praises to my God.

34 May he be pleased with my song,

for my gladness comes from him.

35 May sinners be destroyed from the earth;

may the wicked be no more.

Praise the Lord, my soul!

Praise the Lord!

Sovereign God, you are clothed with majesty and glory. The earth is filled with your creatures. All creation receives breath from you and you give new life to the earth. Praise the LORD, my soul! May your glory last forever! Amen.

Christ Born of Mary

 A ransom was made
     A ransom was paid
As He hung on the cross
     To show us the way

He came into this world
     So innocent and pure
The glory of God
     A present to endure

The star shone so bright
     In the silent night
For all to see
     That beautiful sight

A tiny manger
     All clothed in light
Holding a baby
     Our Savior, that night

The shepherds gazed
     The Wisemen bowed
To this tiny bundle
     Who would shape the crowd

They presented their gifts
     Gold, frankincense, and myrrh
To the child of God
     At His glorious birth

So all this was done that it might be fulfilled
     A child was born, a son
To save the world
     And make it one

Come Fly With Me

Come fly with me

   To a land that’s free

Of life’s trials, anguish & strife

Where the songs of angels

   & the whispers of the wind

Chase away the sadness

   That comes from within

Where God’s light abounds

   His love, mercy & grace

Always showing the smile

   That is on His face

So hear these words

   All you below

Cherish God’s anointed

   And always know

That God’s love is everlasting

   His desires so true

To put His son on a cross

   To die for you

Giving you everlasting life

   And an ending to strife
